STEP 1

After we receive your payment, we will send you an email with our quick intake forms (where we'll gather all your information), we need those filled out in order to proceed with scheduling you. After filling those out, you’re good to go.

STEP 2

You do not need to ask your health provider for permission to encapsulate your placenta. Your placenta belongs to you. You don’t have to tell them the reason why you’re keeping your placenta. Some people keep it for religious ceremonies. You can simply tell them you’ve made arrangements for someone to pick up your placenta after birth. Before going into labor you can remind them that you’re keeping your placenta, and after you give birth they’ll have you sign a release form where you’ll let them know who is picking your placenta up from the hospital.

STEP 3

Nationwide: Your shipping kit will arrive to you between 34-36 weeks of pregnancy. You'll be instructed on how to take your placenta home from the hospital, how to properly take care of it, and how to ship it to us. Do not worry this process is very simple and you can contact us at any time if you have questions.

Local: Our pick up hours are 9am-9pm (UNLESS your hospital has a time frame for us to pick up your placenta). We are available for pick up 7 days a week. Text/Call/Dm us when your placenta is ready for pick up or ahead of time. We'll will arrive as soon as possible. If you happen to deliver out of pick up hours, know that your placenta should sit out no longer than 4 hours at room temperature. After 4 hours it needs to be in a sealed container or zip lock bag, and it needs to be chilled at 30-40 degrees (the hospital should be able to provide ice and container). Most hospitals keep it in a fridge for you.

STEP 4

Nationwide: Your Placenta will arrive safely to us using USPS express shipping. Once placenta arrives to our disinfected and sanitized workstation, we prepare ourselves with disposable Personal Protective Equipment.

STEP 5

We begin by rinsing placenta, removing the umbilical cord, and amniotic sac. At Peace of Mommy Encapsulation, we use The Traditional Chinese inspired method of preparing the placenta.

Steamed Method: Involves seasoning the placenta with lemon juice, cayenne pepper and ginger. After seasoning, we gently steam the placenta, dehydrate it, grind it into fine powder to then put it into capsules. The steamed method allows a gentle dose of hormones and vitamins to the body.

STEP 6

Be assured that after the encapsulation process, our equipment and workstation is disinfected and sanitized following OSHA standards. We ensure that blood-borne pathogens are eliminated. Things such as sponges, cutting boards, and protective equipment are disposable and are only used one time.
