Your shipping kit will be sent to you between your 34 weeks to 36 weeks of pregnancy with everything you'll need to safely ship your placenta to us. Can I still encapsulate with a C-Section?
YES! your birth choices or outcomes do not affect whether you can get your placenta encapsulated or not. In fact that is one more reason why you should get your placenta encapsulated. It will help you heal so much faster.
Can I encapsulate if i develop gestational diabetes during pregnancy?
Your placenta is still useful. We recommend you start using your capsules once your sugar levels go back to normal. Sometimes that happens immediately after birth, but it can take up to 1-2 weeks. As long as you're checking your blood sugar after taking the capsules you're fine to start taking the normal recommended dosage.
My due date is coming up. Can I still book?
We don't have a specific deadline for booking, but we recommend booking at least 4 weeks before your due date. However, if your due date is approaching, we can still accommodate you. Even if you're in labor, you can still book our services. Just take your placenta home, freeze it, and wait for further instructions.
What do I need to bring to the hospital in order to keep my placenta?
Bring a cooler with you to properly store the placenta. The hospital will place your placenta in a sealed bag or container. They will provide ice for you to keep the placenta fresh until we arrive for pick up. Please note that your placenta should sit out no longer than 4 hours at room temperature. Some hospitals will keep your placenta in a fridge until we pick it up, but it's best for your placenta to stay in your room until we pick it up so it's not misplaced or taken away.
